Spec S2 / Websites

Websites that book the work.

Web design in Burton upon Trent, Derby and across the Midlands, built on Astro and Netlify, Shopify or HubSpot. Fast, easy to run, and connected to your CRM from day one.

01 / What it is

The right platform for the job, not the one we fancy.

We design and build websites from our studio near Burton upon Trent, for businesses in Derby, Staffordshire and well beyond. Every site starts from your brand and your customers. Then we pick the platform that suits how you will actually run it.

Astro on Netlify when you need speed, low running costs or something custom. The Do Club, a Midlands business members' community, has one with bookings and memberships built in. Guestfolk, our own software product, has its marketing site built the same way. It pairs naturally with your own CRM, so every enquiry lands as a new lead.

Shopify when you sell online. Staffordshire Meats, a farm butchery near Uttoxeter, launched its Shopify store in July 2026.

HubSpot CMS when you're already on HubSpot, or your sales team is big enough to need it. We've built HubSpot themes from scratch for Trent Construction, FlowFloor, Marshall Textiles and Exclusively Cornwall, whose 13-page site went live in August 2026 with owner and guest booking forms. Whichever platform, every build gets proper SEO foundations and a walkthrough so you can edit it yourself.

02 / Process

How the job runs.

  1. Call and site plan

A 20-minute call, then a site plan: the pages, what each one is for, and the searches it should be found for.

  2. Design

Key pages designed in your brand, on real words and pictures, so you see the site as it'll be, not a template.

  3. Build

Built on the platform that fits, with forms wired into your CRM, and SEO foundations and tracking in from the start.

  4. Launch

Old addresses redirected, a final check on phones, and a proper go-live, so you keep what Google already knows about you.

  5. Handover and training

A walkthrough and short notes, so you can edit pages yourself. Post-launch support is included with every Launchpad.

04 / Questions

Fair questions.

Q1How much does a small business website cost?

A 5-page website starts from £3,000: designed from your brand, built, mobile-ready, with forms, basic on-page SEO, Google Analytics and Search Console. Up to 10 pages starts from £5,500. If you need a brand and a CRM too, Launchpad covers all three from £4,950, and Launchpad Pro, from £9,500, adds copywriting and email automation. Larger sites and bigger online shops are quoted, with a fixed price in the proposal.

Q2Astro, Shopify or HubSpot: which should we use?

If the site's job is to win enquiries, usually Astro on Netlify: fast, cheap to run, and connected to your own CRM so every enquiry lands as a lead. If you sell products, Shopify. If you're already on HubSpot, or have a sales team big enough to need it, a HubSpot site keeps it all together. We'll recommend one on the call and tell you what it costs to run.

Q3How long does a website take?

A Launchpad site usually goes live 4 to 6 weeks from kick-off, and a Launchpad Pro can run to 8. Bigger builds get dates in the proposal, which you will have within 48 hours of the call.

Q4Can we update the site ourselves?

Yes, that's the point. We build every page to be edited without us, then walk you through it. If you'd rather we kept it up to date, that's what the Growth Retainer is for.

Q5Do you do web design for businesses in Derby?

Yes. FlowFloor is a Derby flooring company we branded and built a HubSpot site for. The studio at Hanbury is an easy drive from Derby, and we're old school: we'd rather sit down with you face to face.
