Case study / Our product

Guestfolk

Our own product. Guestfolk gives a business club, supper club or networking group its website, members' area and dashboard in one, and we do the setup.

01 / The brief

Give every club its own platform.

Clubs and networking groups usually run on a patchwork: a website here, a booking form there, a spreadsheet of members and a separate email tool. We wanted to give them one place for all of it, in their own brand, without them having to build anything.

It had to be quick to set up for a new club, and easy for an organiser to run on a busy week.

02 / What we did

Built it, named it, launched it.

  • Naming and brand for the product
  • A re-brandable platform built in Astro on Netlify
  • Event bookings, memberships and payments through the club's own Stripe
  • A members' area with a membership card on the phone
  • An organiser's dashboard for events, people and emails, with Mailchimp built in
  • Looks that change the whole feel of a club, from evening to daylight
  • A demo club, the Lantern Club, that anyone can try
  • The guestfolk.com marketing site and explainer films

03 / The result

Try it yourself.

Guestfolk is live at guestfolk.com, with a working demo club you can try as a member or as the organiser. Each club gets its own look, its own Stripe and Mailchimp, and keeps its own members' data.

04 / The longer story

Why we built it

We kept seeing the same thing: clubs with great events and loyal members, held together by a website, a booking form, a spreadsheet and an email tool that don't talk to each other. So we built the thing we wished they had, and gave it a name.

One platform, any club

Guestfolk is a website, a members' area and a dashboard in one. Members book and pay online through the club's own Stripe account and carry their membership card on their phone. Organisers run events, people and emails from one dashboard, with Mailchimp built in. It's built in Astro and runs on Netlify, so it's fast and there's nothing for the club to maintain.

Your club, your look

Every club looks like itself, not like us. Colours, fonts and logo come from the club's brand, and a "look" setting switches the whole feel, from a dark evening style to a light daylight one with serif headings.

Try before you talk

The Lantern Club is a made-up business club in Manchester and Cheshire, with invented venues and people, that shows Guestfolk working for real. Anyone can sign in with one click, as a member or as the organiser, and have a proper look around.
